& enough with the 2010 crap. 'BEST FICTION' was only released 2 years ago.
But to answer your question no one except Arashi has put up numbers like that this year but a best album (which sell more than studio albums in Japan which I'm sure you're aware of) from a diva as big as Utada should be able to put up similar numbers.

The 2010 thing is not crap, its the truth of the numbers. The biggest selling album of this year has sold about 1 million. Namie sold almost 2 million and was still only the #2 album of 2008. I'm not going to delude myself into thinking Utada is going to blow Best Fiction out of the water and make it into 2008 sales.

I can see it passing Arashi though.

^Actually 'BEST FICTION' sold 1,447,149 copies by the end of 2008 placing it at #2 for the year. It sold another 392,939 copies in 2009 bringing the total to 1.8 million

But you act like I'm comparing an album in 2010 to one that was released in 1998. I know the market has suffered but comparing a 2008 & 2010 album is not that far off IMO.

I also don't think Utada's upcoming singles collection will outsell BF but it should be able to put up similar numbers.

I agree that it is not far off and the numbers are similar but there is a notable difference in between 2008 and 2010 regarding sales, even if it is small.

I've decided to buy Hikki's album even though its really expensive, I need to support my fav instead of downloading it from somewhere

I am excited for Hikki's best album!

I am also looking forward to how well it is recieved too!

Hopefully she regain her popularity, although her return won't be seen as a 'BIG comeback' I do think she'll do extremely well though!
