PINK HONORED WITH EQUALITY AWARD BY HUMAN RIGHTS CAMPAIGN
Pink and husband Carey Hart were among the attendees at the 14th Annual Human Rights Campaign National Dinner at the Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC on Saturday (October 9).
The Grammy Award-winning artist was on hand to pick up the Ally for Equality Award by none other than Bette Midler.
Amid a crowd of over 3000 people, Pink praised the fundraising committee, which is the nation’s largest GLBT civil rights organization.
Other winners included Modern Family (National Arts & Culture Award) and Precious director Lee Daniels (Visibility Award.)
Following the star-studded event, Pink tweeted: “Tonight’s HRC benefit was absolutely inspiring. So many wonderful people, fighting the good fight. Thank you for the honor and thank you Bette!!!! I luv you!”
"Well, Wall street is crashing and I'm about to lose my job, but I don't want 2 people I've never met to put on nice clothes, say nice things to each other in front of other nice people, and live happily ever after. It's important to me and my life that that not happen. Really?"
