Indirectly, all promo affects radio airplay. (Not very well, but it does.)

The best promo for radio, though, is radio promo. To go from station to station, and getting on big radio shows, actually does help increase airplay pretty well. For example, look at what happened to Orianthi's "According to You" after she went on Open House Party, and they played the song. Airplay exploded that week for it. It leveled out the next week, but blew up a few weeks later.

Well yeah, radio promotion I'd think help. But I assumed the type being discussed was like performances, and other things beside directly going to radio stations.
