Even with a bad throat she outshines the lessors!! What a pro!
In my dreams, she sang this song because it's the next single (this IS my fave from the album), but in reality it's probably that it's one of the ones that requires her to strain her vocal cords the least.

But still...

^ I honestly think she was going to do either "Tightrope" or "Cold War" like she usually does, but with the sore throat she had to change plans on the fly and do a song that had lower notes and required her to not strain her voice much. Ergo, she did "Faster".

Also, from my experience seeing her live back in September, I can definitely guarantee you that "Faster" was the song that got people dancing. She started out with "Dance or Die / Faster / Locked Inside," and while people were still a bit confused of what they were listening to with "Dance or Die," they all got on board with "Faster"

I agree. I think she should try out another look, but I think she's trying to find a style to separate her from the others, I guess. I think her look is boring and that may be a big reason why people are not latching on to her despite how good her music is.

I'm just glad she is not performing "Tightrope," which is another reason why she isn't getting a lot of success. She has been performing the same song since her album dropped. She needs to perform other songs to get people interested in her more.

When she was on The Mo'nique Show, she basically said her outfit was like a 'uniform' of sorts, her way of paying homage to the working class, as she grew up in a working class family. Part of me admires her for that, and part of me thinks it's so contrived it must be total B.S. You decide:

I don't her look is that big enough to keep people away from her music. She also probably won't change her look until after this concept is done, and that's after the next album.



Her album is good (as well as her performances), but there is nothing single-wise that will catch on and get people interested ( Locked Inside might work but I don't see radio loving it). She just isn't there yet. If the label sticks behind her, has faith in her and doesn't allow her to fade away, I think she'll grow herself a fanbase and get a point where she can make music that's good and be able to appeal to a wide range of people. She just needs the right song and the right time.

But I'm trying to be optimistic. And I do want her to stop performing Tightrope. If it's not gonna happen, it's not gonna happen.

t4p! yeah it seems kind of gimmicky.

Some of her songs don't sound as good unless they're being listened in the context of the album. I'm kind of getting bored of her.
