After one pop rock superstar has just dropped her new single, another one is preparing to do the same, with Kelly Clarkson holding a live Twitter chat with her fans yesterday to clue them in on the process of her new material (Via MJ’s).
Basically, Kelegend revealed the following:
» Her new single is due before the end of the year, with the album due early 2011.
» The album has almost been completed and Kelegend is close to picking the final tracklisting out of the “way too many” songs that have been recorded.
» Kelegend is ready to tour again.
» There will be two duets on the album, one of which sounds like it could’ve been on ‘My December‘.
» Neither of the mystery duets are Carrie Underwood, but they are both people that she’s sung with live before (my guess is Daughtry).
» She’s recorded with Jason Halbert again, who co-produced her venomous smash “Never Again”.
» Kelly has also worked with pop dynamo Greg Kurstin, who has previously worked Britney, Kylie, Sugar Ray and Sia.
» Kelegend is nicer, funnier and more talented than you, and she’s comin’ for your faves.
It’s pretty hard to tell just what direction Kelly will end up going in for the new album. We’ve had the pleasure of hearing her take a surprisingly successful stab at auto-tuned sex-pop with “Ready to Go”, but she’s also compared some of the music on the album to the angsty My December, so for now it remains a mystery.
Avril, Kelly and Britney all for 2011. Pop heaven.
