Joe Jonas Channels Justin Timberlake on Solo Album

(NewsCore) - Joe Jonas is declaring musical independence from his Disney band of brothers to pursue a solo career of his own, a source told E! Online Monday.
The 21-year-old Jonas will showcase a "dangerous sound" more reminiscent of a "sexier, Justin Timberlake" vibe than the family friendly pop music of the Jonas Brothers band, the source told the entertainment website.
The middle Jonas brother, who will release a solo album in early 2011, also seeks a wardrobe makeover. He will reportedly don a T-shirt and leather jacket instead of the boy band's trademark suit and tie.
After the youngest Jonas brother -- Nick -- released his top-selling solo single "Who I Am" in late 2009, Joe said that he himself was working on his own music.
"I'm writing songs right now," Joe said in January 2010. "I'm writing a lot of music."
Joe has also pursued some acting opportunities with a guest role in August on "Hot in Cleveland" and an upcoming appearance on "90210."
Joe's solo musical pursuit is said to be just a "side project." A source close to the band said the group was not breaking up.
