the catholics and christians in general are the ones that have huge amounts of gold on churches and beg the brainwashed followers to give them money, the ****ing pope is full of diamonds, wears prada shoes and has gold in his outfit, the same with priests, we are the greedy ones? ch... I won't even talk about the Vatican.
I laughed a lot when that interviewer did an interview with one of the major leaders of christianity and he admited some of the money that the followers give are to invest on companies (including ****ographic companies), there is so much, people close their eyes but in the deep they know something isn't right, that's why ya'll get so hot and bothered when there is an atheist talking about religion, I thought you're faith was strong enough to ignore the non believers

lmao are you kidding me? Ask anyone in the world what Christmas celebrates and they will tell you the birth of Christ. How could CHRISTmas be celebrated before Christ was even born? If anything similar was celebrated, it was obviously a different celebration or holiday that is completely unrelated. If it's not celebrating Christ's birth, then its not CHRISTmas

 @ both sides.
I'm agnostic btw. Being created by a higher being is as probable as being created by the big bang. It's like chicken and egg thingy, no one will know who is right. Just respect what the others think.
IMO, Its probably best to believe there is some kind of architect of the universe without thinking about it too much than to believe there is none. We might as well be in a glass sphere and inside that is what we call the universe being observed by who created us. XD

Receipts? Statistics?
Just because they DO know what it celebrates doesn't mean they celebrate it because of that.
Just like I said, Christmas has pagan origins. If Christians were educated on that would they stop celebrating Christmas because of that?
And DEAD @ it not being Christmas because of not celebrating Jesus' b'day. If that's the case, then people shouldn't call themselves Christians if they've never read the Bible for themselves or follow the rules set out by the Bible- some of which inspiration4 has posted.

Supposedly Christmas has origins as a pagan holiday that was celebrated long before the birth of Jesus. Celebrating Christmas is different than celebrating the birth of Jesus. Christmas has widespread celebrations even in places with small Christian followings. Modern day Christmas does not celebrate the birth of Jesus as Christian Christmas doesn't celebrate its pagan origins.

Amazing post..... but you should have known this would fly far above his head

Please tell me why the word CHRIST is even in the word CHRISTmas....If it wasn't celebrating Christ's birth then it wouldnt be called CHRISTmas and it would be something else.

You're focusing on something different.
Christmas the word does have Christian origins, yes.
But the actual Celebration has pagan origins.
Focus.

Well it is what it is today...And today, it is CHRISTMAS, a celebration of the birth of Jesus CHRIST. YOU are the one who is focusing on something different. If it had a different title and celebrated something different and unrelated to CHRIST, how is it CHRISTMAS?

Please, the feast of saturnalia just because it was named from a pagan god doesn't mean its origin is demonic. Don't talk about receipts when you barely know it. Geez.

Flawless post again..
And by the way, i had no idea Christmas had non-christian roots but it isn't surprising considering that christianity itself borrows heavily from many religions that preceded it....
CNN recently posted a story that had ties to your suggestion of chrisitan labeling, basically saying that today most christians are not actually "christians", but some form of christian mutants...Again, not surprising considering they blissfully ignore large portions of the bible.
But i'd rather they remain "mutants" than following the bible literally, seeing as how i'm against widespread murder, slavery, and the punishment of those who refuse to relax on Sunday's
