Ciara has spoken out against the death of an American teenager who was revealed to be gay on the internet.
Tyler Clementi, 18, committed suicide after his roommate allegedly streamed footage of him having sex with another male live online.
In the wake of the incident, the R&B singer posted a video on YouTube in which she offered a message of hope for other vulnerable youths struggling with their sexuality.
"You gotta know that your life is in your hands,” she said. “You determine your destiny. You're in total control. You determine where things can go - where they can start, where they can stop. It starts with you, and it really does get better."
Earlier this morning, openly gay talkshow host Ellen DeGeneres stated that she was "devastated" by the news of Clementi’s death and urged for action to be taken in order to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
^ they shouldnt be charged with anything. They didnt kill the guy, they didnt realise what effect it would have on him.
The fact that hey have to live with the knowledge that they caused his suicide is punishment enough, they will have that with them for the rest of their lives.
This wouldn't be as bad if he considered the webcamming situation a prank, but he clearly had a problem with his roommate and couldn't stop attacking him it's clear in his Tweets.

This is sad. I don't know what's worse, the fact that his room-mate's humiliated him and bullied him, or the fact he was too scared to admit he was gay. The boy should have just been comfortable in his own skin. It's sad! May he rest in peace regardless.
They still should be charge though. Yeah they did not kill him but they did invaded his privacy which led him to kill himself and you have no business doing that.

I can't believe that a mother is mourning her kid at the moment because of some people's stupidity and cruelness. And for the people that said he was afraid to recognise being gay I don't think that's the problem. I think he couldn't take the bullying. That makes me thing of the Megan's case
I mean that mother is a shame. Her schoolmates called her ugly and stuff, just look how beautiful she was.
The bullying will happen. It's sad, but it's true. I guess these two crossed the line, but to resort to suicide? I don't know what he was going through but you have to stay strong.
I'm actually glad celebrities are speaking out on this. Suicide in any case is sad, and the fact that people think it's the way out is even sadder. Bullying is not cool at all. Even if the guy didn't kill himself, he could have hurt them or some of the people at his school.
