"Normal?" Not saying that it's normal or right, but people beating up their parents are very common, celebrity or average Joe.
Also, this is the same woman that was doing drugs on his MTV special. This is sad. I would never hit my mom, no matter how mad I get. But his mom has serious problems too and that's probably why he's the way that he is.
