If you follow Rihanna on Twitter, then you would’ve heard by now that her fabulous leaked video “Who’s That Chick” was actually just an advertisment for an upcoming Dorito’s promotional campaign, and not something from her new album, Loud. The news was a little disappointing, but now that the campaign is beginning to take shape, the whole thing has gotten a lot more exciting.
Above, you can see the first teaser ad for the campaign, which has been dubbed as “Doritos Late Night“. Rihanna’s “Who’s That Chick” looks like it’s going to be even better upon it’s official release, as the official Dorito’s Youtube account is billing it as, “a full interactive video experience with Rihanna”. If you head over to the official Doritos Late Night website, you’ll encounter a flashy teaser trailer for the campaign, as well as a link to Doritos official Facebook, which is filled with some interesting tidbits, such as the one below.
“You may have seen the leaked Rihanna music video for “Who’s That Chick”. But that’s just the beginning. You’ve never seen an online music experience like this. Check out doritoslatenight.com to see the trailer for the full experience that launches on 10/15/10.”
It also looks like there’s going to be some major prizes involved, with the official website mentioning that Doritos Late Night is, “giving away over $1 million in Live Nation prizes, including music tickets and discounts on artist merchandise—just in time for summer…”
Exciting! Too bad that the surprise has been ruined, but maybe Doritos will have some other cool stuff still up their sleeve. Ugh, now I want some Doritos. They’re in my top three favorite chips (along with Pringles and Red Rock Deli), but I ban myself from buying them because I usually wolf those jumbo bags down in one sitting.
