Chris Brown Announces New Album Title
September 18th, 2010
Chris Brown got back in a pop state of mind with his club-friendly jam “Yeah 3x,” but that’s only the tip of the iceberg. C. Breezy took over the airwaves to announce his upcoming album title and update listeners on its progress.
“I’m putting out singles a lot right now, so everything’s coming together,” he revealed on Austin, Texas, radio station 102.3 The Beat. “But I’m definitely going to say this and plug it quick. The name of my album is F.A.M.E., so make sure you check it out.”
The 21-year-old singer’s fourth album title stands for “Forgiving All My Enemies,” the acronym that he got tattooed on his arm this past July. He recently released a snippet of the DJ Frank E-produced “Yeah 3x,” which will be unveiled in full within the next week.
“I got a couple things coming to y’all in the future. I’ve got the new records coming out. I’ve got one called ‘Yeah 3x.’ It’s self-explanatory, you can probably hear it on YouTube right now, but we gon’ put it out to y’all in a couple more days or something like that,” he said. “Also, we got a record called ‘Calypso.’ I got a couple other things. So I’m trying to get everything together, figure out what I’mma do with the album.”
Brown has been hard at work in the studio, collaborating with singer-songwriter Kevin McCall, who penned his hit single “Deuces” as well as forthcoming album cuts “Rest of My Life” and the country-tinged “Another You.”
“I write and collab with Chris. Awesome writer. Vibe off his energy a lot. We got a lot of records to get out,” McCall told Rap-Up TV, noting that he also penned a slow jam with Chris and Tank for Keri Hilson’s sophomore project No Boys Allowed.
In the meantime, fans can get a taste of some new Breezy by checking out his contributions to Nelly’s 5.0 album, due Nov. 16. “He gon’ have a great album,” stated Chris. “I worked with him on a couple of joints, me and Polow Da Don.”

September 15th, 2010
While you were sleeping, the Bay Area’s WiLD 94.9 premiered a snippet of Chris Brown’s “Yeah 3x,” one of the pop singles from his upcoming fourth album. “I wanna see ya tonight, yeah, yeah, yeah,” sings the comeback kid over the thumping electro-dance tune, which recalls his smash “Forever.” After the success of “Deuces” on urban radio, this could be the mainstream hit that puts Breezy back on the pop charts.
Kevin McCall Talks ‘Deuces’ Success, New Chris Brown Album
September 12th, 2010
When “Deuces” hit No. 1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, Kevin McCall and his collaborators Chris Brown and Tyga celebrated the occasion with a “text toast.” Their busy schedules prevented them from meeting up in-person, but Kevin is thrilled for the mixtape track’s success. “We’re all happy, we’re all excited,” he told Rap-Up TV at the 2010 BMI Urban Music Awards.
In addition to working on his own mixtape, the singer-songwriter-producer has been in the studio with Timbaland (“I was about to pass out”) and Chris to record Brown’s next album. He describes two new tracks, the country-tinged “Another You” and “Rest of My Life,” and gives us a hint as to what we can expect from his Polow Da Don-produced single “Calypso.”
The talented artist has something for the Keri Hilson fans too, having produced a slow jam for her sophomore album No Boys Allowed with C. Breezy and Tank. The song was originally written for RichGirl, but found its way into Keri’s hands.
Drake Reveals Studio Session with Chris Brown
June 29th, 2010
Drake has had a busy week. Between appearances on late-night TV and winning his first BET Award on Sunday, the chart-topping rapper has managed to fit in studio time with Game and Chris Brown.
“I’ve been working all night,” an exhausted Drizzy told “Extra” on Tuesday. “I’ve just been in the studio. I was actually in the studio with Chris Brown for a little bit. Then I was studio hopping, seeing where I can lend my hand since I’ve done mine.”
Drake is not the only artist offering his support to Brown. Following his emotional tribute to Michael Jackson at the BET Awards, a smattering of stars expressed their happiness for the singer, including Cassie, Mario, Lloyd, and Keri Hilson, who feels her friend is on the rebound.
“It was very heartfelt. I was almost moved to tears,” Keri told Rap-Up TV. “It was incredible and I’m so glad Chris is back. I’m so glad that people are finally forgiving him and finally accepting him back into our good graces. He deserves a second chance.”
Chris Brown Embraces Pop Side On 'Yeah 3X'
Sep 15 2010
Snippet of the techno-dance number premiered Wednesday morning on San Fransico's WiLD 94.9.
Chris Brown won over our hearts and wedding entrances with his feel-good hit "Forever." And it looks like the singer may be interested in re-creating that magic with his new song "Yeah 3X." A snippet of the track, which premiered Wednesday morning (September 15) on San Francisco radio station WiLD 94.9, finds Brown venturing away from his urban roots ("Deuces") and onto the dance floor.
Over an electrifying, video game-type beat, Chris' vocals soar atop the bouncy track as he proclaims his feelings for his lover. In what sounds like it could be an energetic little sister to "Forever," he sings, "In the moment, can't believe/ You're so beautiful/ Feels like I'm in a dream/ Baby, we're goin' somewhere you've never been before/ So take my hand and come with me/ Don't feel out of place 'cause I'm in love with this feeling."
No word on whether the song will appear on his next album, but the singer posted a line from the lyrics on Twitter on Wednesday and tweeted, "i hope you liked the record everyone who heard it and thx for your support."
"Yeah 3X" joins a slew of other tracks that have recently surfaced featuring Brown, including Twista's "Make a Movie" and his cover of Nicki Minaj's "Your Love."
But the entertainer isn't just interested in feature cameos, he's steadily at work on the follow-up to 2009's Graffiti. RapUpTV recently caught up with "Deuces" producer Kevin McCall, who said that the Virginia native may be heading in a new direction with his next LP.
McCall revealed the titles of two new tracks, "Another You" and "Rest of My Life." "We're going to keep working on new stuff from here. That kid's got a lot of records so it's tough picking out cuts. It's really new right now. The song 'Another You' is country. It's like Hootie and the Blowfish, so it should be something different, something new and fresh."
Fans may also be hearing another new song from the 21-year-old sometime soon. Brown has hyped up a Polow Da Don-produced track called "Calypso" on Twitter, saying, "this is a song that women have been missing from ME!!"
We got a lot of records to get out,” McCall told Rap-Up TV, noting that he also penned a slow jam with Chris and Tank for Keri Hilson’s sophomore project No Boys Allowed
Slow jam gives me the creeps cuz' it makes me think about Keri's Slow Dance, I did not like that, that's for sure.
But his Superhuman and her Stronger demo are LIFE!
They probably cooking something for us together [other than the Deuces remix which I hope will leak anyways].
Anyway all shade aside, If I hear stuff like Deuces, Forever, Wall To Wall, With You, Kiss Kiss, Crawl, I Can Transform Ya etc. then I will be happy. I was disappointed in Exclusive and Graffiti. He only makes a few good tracks in my opinion and the rest is meh.
I had the pleasure of getting this exclusive info for Team Breezy. I won’t say much, I’ll just let the interview do the talking. And, Frank E – make sure you take good care of our boy, Breezy! We, the fans, are trusting you! LOL!
1. How did you guys come up with the song, “Yeah 3x”?
I was working late one night in the studio when I got a call from my manager. Chris was working in the studio down the street and wanted to me to come down and listen to some tracks. I walked in, met Chris for the first time, and played him 1 track. He sat there for 4 minutes listening, then said, “Ok, I’m ready.” He jumped in the booth and wrote the whole thing on the spot.
2. Who wrote it?
Chris did and he wrote it in about 15 minutes. I didn’t realize that he wrote so much until then. I was really impressed.
3. Is the song from Chris’ forthcoming album?
Chris told me he has two songs in mind for the singles for his album – “Yeah 3x” is the pop/rhythmic/crossover single, and he has one more that leans more urban.
4. Will there be a music video?
While we were working on the song, he described to me in detail his vision for the song, the music video, everything… he’s talented beyond belief and has a vision for his work.
5. Will you and Chris be working together again?
We have plans to work again soon in LA. Chris is great to work with because he works fast and off immediate inspiration. His vocals seem effortless, and watching him in the booth is like a mini concert. Be ready for more from Chris Brown and DJ Frank E!
