Who do you think will be the next "it" girl in the music industry for 2011? This year was Ke$ha, last year was Lady Gaga and the year before that was Katy Perry.
Here are my two choices that have potential to be the next "it" girl for next year.
Kaci Battaglia
She is NOT a new artist, she has been making albums since the early 00's but she NEVER had a hit. She does have potential to become a breakthrough artist. Katy Perry and Lady Gaga have made albums before they were famous and look at them now.
Crazy Possessive was kinda popular last year but it was not a breakthrough hit. Her new song Body Shots with Ludacris might be her breakthrough hit. It's already a hit in the Dance charts
Body Shots is a good song! and her album "Bring it On" hits stores September 21st
Sky Ferreira
Another artist that might have potential is Sky Ferreira! She is new artist. Her debut album hits stores in January of 2011 and her debut single in the U.S is "Obsession" which just hit the radio waves this month.
Obsession is one of my favorite songs right now. Great pop song
That's what I'm hoping for but I have my doubts that she'll be overly popular with her style and image.
I think she's super pretty, and her style is a little quirky, but more attainable than say, Gaga's, so I'm hoping those things will work in her favor.
I'm more concerned with the music she'll release. Mirror is nice, but it doesn't really sound "fresh" to my ears. I enjoyed Zombie and Activate My Heart but they're only promo single quality. She's going to need to come harder with the music, I think.
