No, then people would just download them. iTunes saved the industry.
Forgot piracy. But I never disowned iTunes or what good it has done, just saying if it didn't exist album sales would benefit. Simple. But to be extra, I doubt all the billions of people who buy music would just all resort to illegally downloading.
I'm surprised that The Remix is still in the top 50 and The Fame Monster isn't.
Meanwhile, The Fame keeps on slaying! On track to be one of the top five albums of the year!

That's only because people prefer to buy the deluxe edition of TFM
The reversion back to a singles culture is what hurts album sales more than anything. Look at Flo Rida as a prime example. He'll sell millions of singles, but under 100k albums. You know that difference in people are not illegally downloading his album from Limewire; they just don't want it.
For those who still don't know her music... go get this album NOW!

Do you think his album will hit gold? I'm really rooting for him.
R&B sales are so hard to guess. I think it'll sell more than Ready---I'm gonna go with 150-200k.
Who? B.o.B? I think he will see Gold. It is very close to 400k and has been in the top 50 since his debut. He didn't fall completely off like most "single artists," so Gold is a sure thing. Though I wish he would be selling more. He deserves it.

I think the sheer number of hit singles he's releasing has saved his album. Nobody was interested when it was first released, but now it's kind of hard to deny the guy.
