Florence Welch has warned that people may explode during her performance at the VMAs.
The Florence and the Machine frontwoman revealed that she will attempt to recreate the music video for 'Dog Days Are Over', which shows people spontaneously combusting.
"What we're trying to do is kind of encapsulate the video into a live performance," she told MTV.
"Basically, the whole thing is just me arranging flowers, and then a load of people around me spontaneously combust, and that's it. It's going to be great."
She continued: "It's sort of energy and chaos. There's people, like, actually physically exploding in the video, and hopefully that won't happen.
"If everyone's really into it, that's fine with me, but we haven't planned it."
The singer, who is nominated for four awards, also explained the meaning behind the Machine aspect of her name.
She said: "The machine for the actual show is something kind of different - the machine is never supposed to be my band. It's kind of everything and nothing."
The MTV VMAs take place on Sunday night in at Los Angeles.
Florence (Italian: Firenze listen (help·info), pronounced [fiˈrɛntse]; alternative obsolete spelling: Fiorenza, Latin: Florentia) is the capital city of the Italian region of Tuscany and of the province of Florence. It is the most populous city in Tuscany, with 367,569 inhabitants (1,500,000 in the metropolitan area).[2]
The city lies on the River Arno and is known for its history and its importance in the Middle Ages and in the Renaissance, especially for its art and architecture. A centre of medieval European trade and finance and one of the richest and wealthiest cities of the time,[3] Florence is considered the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance; in fact, it has been called the Athens of the Middle Ages.[4] It was long under the de facto rule of the Medici family. From 1865 to 1870 the city was also the capital of the Kingdom of Italy. Florence is often known as the "Jewel of the Renaissance".
