Looks like TRL is back in some capacity, this time as The Seven. Only it'll be like an MTV-ized version of E! News and Daily 10.

MTV is reviving the live daytime show with a series targeting celebrities and pop culture.
Studio-based countdown show The Seven will air weekdays from Times Square beginning Sept. 27 and represents the latest evolution in the format from the network that pioneered the genre with Total Request Live.
The half-hour show presents seven stories that MTV viewers need to know, from Hollywood news, music, sex and fashion to other topics. E! veteran Steve Tseckares will executive produce.
"It's been a big goal of mine to get us back into the live-series business," said MTV programming president Tony DiSanto, who co-created TRL in 1998. "I wanted to get into day-and-date topical programming, and there's just something about having a live show during a time of day where everything else is pretaped."
Unlike TRL, which went off the air two years ago, and last year's short-lived It's On With Alexa Chung, Seven will air later in the afternoon, 5 p.m., reflecting MTV research that indicates kids are coming home from school later than ever before.
I miss TRL but that's because I miss seeing good music on top. Since my taste has changed over the years, the general pop music is no longer appealing to me so I guess I wouldnt be watching TRL if I could right now...

I agree. My tastes have drastically changed since TRL last aired.
I think TRL shut down when they had a predictor say that someone with the word 'Lady' in her name was going to dominate & rule the world the next year, they all got scared and weren't ready so they cancelled.
MTV is ruined for me. I remember growing up and my sister showed me pop music when I was little and I would rush home with her to watch TRL (and more importantly watch Britney own. I cried one day when Stronger didn't make the top ten). Now it's gone. I watched it every day for almost four years. I hope they cancel MTV as a channel.

I suppose that's right. TRL I guess could never be the same as the late 90's, early 00's
I want TRL back and I want to see some Britney domination.
