Sorry that this latest update took me forever! Thanks to everyone for your continued support and patience this past round. Unfortunately, if you are a rock/alternative fan, you will once again be disappointed; for the second straight round, three of the four eliminated songs fall under this category. A moment of silence for...
"Feel Good Inc." by Gorillaz, the most famous (and only?) animated band in the world. Though in my mind, this song is easily their biggest and best hit, voters apparently disagreed; in the survey I conducted after the announcement of my choices, participants thought this one "Could have been better." I honestly have no idea which Gorillaz song is more popular.
Jesse McCartney's "It's Over," which probably suffered from being widely disliked among even the singer's small group of ATRL fans.
"Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana, which was once named the second greatest song of all time in an MTV poll. Watching this early-'90s grunge classic bow out so soon breaks my music-loving heart.
And finally, Paramore's "Brick By Boring Brick," the song that finally won the band some respect in my eyes. Considering the fairly passionate group of Paramore stans on ATRL, I thought this song might be around for awhile. However, its high number of votes in the first round demonstrated that support is not as wide-reaching as I thought; its elimination this round thus comes as no shock.
