She was signed to Geffen, but she was dropped, surposidly due to either funding or she wanted more creative control, more than they were prepared to give her.. and it's most likely the latter
She's had a publishing deal for a few years, but she can't release on just that!

To be honest I don't see the Tesco deal as especially a bad thing, it's the second largest retailer in the world on profits, there's one pretty much everywhere. It's pretty lucrative, Faithless did it with their last album.

Faithless still put it on itunes, I think it's just physical copies that are Tesco-only
