Thanks so much to everyone who voted this past round! I really appreciate the support. I can't honestly say I'm surprised by the first group songs that were voted out (though I am a little disappointed); all were relatively unknown and unpopular among ATRL circles. A moment of silence for...
"Guns and Horses," by up-and-coming British songstress Ellie Goulding. I was really hoping this imminently danceable indie-pop ditty might catch on with voters, but unfortunately it didn't last enough to try, as it received more votes than any other song this round.
Keane's "Spiralling," which sadly couldn't seem to overcome the stigma of not being "Somewhere Only We Know," the band's only major hit.
"Oh!" by Girls' Generation, the only non-English entry in this competition. As a K-pop act who have yet to cross over worldwide, Girls' Generation probably suffered from being the game's least-known act.
And finally (this one especially breaks my heart), Radiohead's "Fake Plastic Trees," one of my very favorite alternative songs. Though the song had a group of passionate supporters in this game, it had even more detractors. If nothing, I hope everyone gives this song at least one more listen, as it deserves a little more recognition.
