U ever had french lessons? Dont believe everything u read! Learning french for the 4th year now .. What Rihanna says in that link is true .. a lot of words have different meanings!

Yeah at first glance it does look like a mistake. I have one year of French study, but I'm fully fluent in Spanish. Both languages follow the same rule of noun/adjective in that case (Spanish: La flor rebelde).

EDIT: JUst read Rihanna's response. Now, I know, Spanish and French have their differences, but if someone had said "rebelde flor" it would have been awkward. I would think rebelle fleur is the same. Personally, I don't buy Rihanna's response at all.

It's pretty much the same tho. As long as it looks good on her, who cares what that means. Not all people know French, and they are not bothered to know its meaning.

That's the point. Blatant ignorance about a language, yet using it as a fad kinda depreciates the language.

The English language is "depreciated" and butchered every day by people who were born and raised in English speaking countries.

I'm not pressed at all. I just think that if one is going to tattoo another language "because it's cool," it should be done properly. Kinda like those people that get Kanji characters and just randomly stuff two characters together.

Really, it is her body and if she wants to use incorrect French, ok. But don't claim you know what you're doing. Even French people are saying her explanation is wrong.

In what context does Rihanna think "Rebel Flower" would make sense in English anyway?

First of all there is nothing wrong with Rihanna's tattoo. She already stated it's 2 nouns put together. Either way it's her body and she can write it whatever way she wants to. Take it or leave it. If anybody is that pressed they can get a tattoo saying "fleur rebelle", take a picture of it, and send it to @rihanna to show her just how mad it's gotten you.

I think its not totally wrong, coz french and spanish are more or less the same gramatically and we can say it either way. 'Flor Rebelde' or 'Rebelde Flor', and I think that she put it like that to match her initials!
