I can see Florence + the Machine having Amy Winehouse like success in the US in which she'll gain the recognition and maybe even a few awards without having many hit singles. I wish the best for her because I really want to see her breakout.

Exactly. I think they'll have great album sales & maybe only moderate single sales, exactly like Amy. Album sales are more important than single sales anyway.

Their album was recently in the Top 20 of US iTunes thanks to commercial promo for a movie. Imagine what a televised performance can do.

I don't love their music much but I wish them the best of course.

She deserves it way more then every other UK act right now, Cheryl Cole songs are mediocre at best and that thing called "fight for this love" is beyond bad. there are many Alexandra Burkes in the US already so she just wont. Florence is one of the best in the world ATM so she deserves it

I can envision her going the same route as Amy Winehouse except that she don't get ****ed up.

She was born in the same town as me and my friend went to school with her. Apparently she takes drugs and drinks to come up with ideas for songs. She seems to have it under control though, for now.

A lot of people who are very talented creatively turn to drink/drugs for inspiration.

Not sure about the drugs but my friend said she did them at school.

It's sad but I sort of get it. I lose all my inhibitions when I'm drunk and I guess that's what happens to her so she can just sing out loud. If I recorded my singing when I'm drunk I don't think it would make for a good song though.
