No like Im a huge Avril fan. But like, why do people get so obsessed on this site! It's so pathetic! Avril is a human, just like you and me, and when it comes to people writing music, Lady gaga gets paid for it, Avril doesnt. Simple. Truth of the matter is, Avril has only become an accomplished writer in the last year. When she started out, she wasnt even nearly a song-writer but for each album she grew more and more, and finally we have her first song where she has no co-writers, 'Alice'. Where did that go? #59 on UK charts, and top 30 on U.S itunes peaking #71 on Billboard Hot 100.

The only conclusion is that Avril is one of the only fully accomplished song-writers in this business, but Lady Gaga is one too, and she has had better self-written songs than Avril has. All of Avril's best songs are co-written. That's a fact. So until she proves to be a better song-writer than Lady Gaga, I wont say she is a better song-writer. Is Avril a damn good song-writer? Sure! One of the best of the female pop artists, but not better than Lady Gaga, maybe with experience she will be!

btw: You should do some research, because she was asked to write the soundtrack from Eragon, and let's not talk about other artists using her songs.

Lady Gaga writes brilliant pop songs. Pokerface, Just Dance, Paparazzi, Telephone--they are all fantastic tracks. Avril is a good song writer and god knows she deserves respect for her passion for music, which actually pushes her to want to write her own music in the first place. If you deny Gaga's writing abilities you are just prejudiced, and if you say Avril is better you are not listening properly to the music.

When it comes to musical talent, on the other hand, (playing the instruments) I think we'd have a success story for Avril. As far as I know she plays three instrument disciplines and Gaga just the piano (correct me if I am wrong there.)
