Katy Perry might have two types of teenage dreams when she hosts the Teen Choice Awards next month. Not only is she thinking about singing the title track from her forthcoming album Teenage Dream as part of the night's entertainment, she'll have some dreamy male company that evening:
The male stars of "Glee" have been announced as co-hosts for the August 9 show.
Reports that
Cory Monteith, Mark Salling, Chris Colfer and Kevin McHale will help Perry out with hosting duties on the program, during which Jason Derulo and Travie McCoy will perform.
In addition to her hosting duties, Perry, McCoy's ex, will also sing a song off her new album, which comes out August 24. "
I think I might be doing the second single off the record, ['Teenage Dream']. It'd be a great place ... at the Teen Choice Awards because I think a lot of kids are falling in love and they will relate to that song," she explained. "
That song is kind of like feeling that way when you were a teenager: really emotional, really invested."
"Glee" is up for a number of Teen Choice Surfboards. All the male cast members received nominations, as did their co-stars Jane Lynch and Lea Michele. The show is up for the Choice TV Show: Comedy award.
Sandra Bullock, "Gossip Girl" Leighton Meester and "Twilight" stars Robert Pattinson and Ashley Greene are all set to on the show. And big names who might bring home surfboards include Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift and the stars of "New Moon."
While there's no word on what the hosting style of the "Glee" guys will be like, Perry wants people to know that she plans to look great all night. "I mean, I always have a fantastic time hosting these types of things," Perry said. "[I]
pull out costume after costume after costume."
