That may be true but if a song cant capture its audiences at first listen, then it's gonna have a lot of trouble reaching #1.

It's already almost #1 on iTunes...the only obstacle to a Hot 100 #1 will be the urban/rhythmic support DJ and LTWYL are/will get.

New Jessie & Katy albums on the same day. Not just any day, but the day after my birthday?! I don't know what to think!

I'm pretty sure all the albums that have done this weekly promo thing have 3 of them.

The album has 12 tracks, doesn't it? Well, we'll have had 5 songs available before then. Only 2 official singles and 3 promo. Not that bad, actually. That still leaves 7 brand new songs.

I guess I'm just not into the promo singles. When you have already bought 5/12 it makes it pretty wasteful to then buy the album. I won't be buying them, I'll find somewhere else to listen.

I think promo singles is a great decision -- Katy is still a new artist and it's a good idea to show that her album is good by releasing songs.

What I don't understand is how are the singles going to be released. If people got 3 promo songs, will they need to buy them again with the album or just have it completed?

You get a discounted price for the album on iTunes if you buy the promos.

That is my issue too, it could very easily be a rip off if you are expected to buy the songs again.

Um.... where have you guys been? iTunes has a "Complete the Album" feature. What it does is take away the price of the individual songs you've already purchased, and then it only gives you the songs you don't have. They've had this feature for years.

Not every album can be completed though.

I know about that feature, but I thought they will be releasing these songs as singles.
