The Girls Aloud singer was rushed to hospital last week after collapsing during a photo shoot and then suffering symptoms of a severe headache and soaring fever.
After pulling out of headlining next month’s V Festival, last week’s X Factor auditions and vowing not to do any more performing this year, rumours were swirling that it could be months before she recovered.
But now it has been confirmed that Cheryl, 27, has been dismissed from her private London clinic and is tucked up at home in her Surrey mansion with her mum Joan.
Earlier in the week it was announced that her prestigious headline slot at Virgin Media’s V Festival would have to be cancelled and there were rumours she’d be out of work for six months until she has fully recovered from the disease.
Despite pulling out of last week’s Manchester auditions, which would have seen her sitting next to guest judge – and arch rival – Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger on the judging panel, she is ‘desperate’ to be fit and ready to tackle the bootcamp stages of the show.
Cheryl is sure to be pleased to be back home and away from the hospital food – despite it being top quality. This morning it emerged that the feisty Geordie lass had been refusing to eat any of the hospital’s food and instead, mum Joan had been taking her in home cooked meals.\

B]Ne-Yo to help Cheryl break America
[/B]
Ne-Yo has told Newsbeat he's been speaking to Cheryl Cole about a collaboration.
Cheryl's currently ill with malaria and she's cancelled her appearance at V Festival, but it's thought she'll attempt to break the US market at some point later this year.
Could Ne-Yo be the songwriter to help her pen a hit record? He said: "We've been talking about doing some stuff together. Although nothing has happened so far Cheryl is definitely on the list."
Having had a successful career in Girls Aloud, Cheryl has managed to launch her own solo career.
Ne-Yo thinks she can do the same in America: "She's gorgeous. She can sing. She can dance. I don't see why she wouldn't do well. All she needs is already there - she just needs the right song. All she needs is a good record."
Ne-Yo knows a thing or two about writing good records for pop divas. He wrote Irreplaceable for Beyonce and two tracks for Rihanna, Take a Bow and Unfaithful.
Selena Gomez praises "amazing" Cheryl Cole
Selena Gomez has revealed that she is a Cheryl Cole fan.
The 17-year-old - who is due to release her sophomore album in September - heard Cole's debut solo single 'Fight For This Love' during a promotional trip to the UK, reports OMG Music.
"Nobody in the States knows her, she’s amazing," she said. "I have her whole album (3 Words). I had to call her label and get a copy as they don’t sell it in the States.
"This is how obsessed I am with this girl… we’re on the same label and I was like [on the phone] ‘I NEED this album!"
Gomez had previously revealed that she would like to work with the Girls Aloud singer, who is currently being treated in hospital for malaria.
