If you look at the history and winners in Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, you would see why it would be hard for Em and Rih to beat Jay and Alicia. Em might get a nomination, but a win? Yeah, we'll see.

Go ahead and look at Jay Z 's singles history and you'll see that he rarely has top 20 hits !!! He isn't even among the top 5 when it comes down to most top 20 hits among rappers/hip hop artists! And when he has had a top 20 hit he always had a feature in it (female most of the time)

True. The song that wins is always the biggest song of the year, no matter what.... that's always been the trends. So in some way, the fans pick the nominees and winner of that category.

but who says LTWYL isn't the song of the year ? It has just started charting and look at it go !!!! Top 20 in 6 countries without it's peak airplay as airplay still increasing by the day and no music video yet !! So for all we know LTWYL can be the song of the year !!

I think LTWYL may be a contender for a nomination for sure, but I'm not sure about a win just yet. However, Best Rap Album is up in the air. Jay-Z may be vulnerable there.

Idk, but Rihanna has the sympathy vote this season as her material wasn't released in time for last Grammy's. Plus, Jay-Z probably wont be nominated here in this category... I want Ri to win!

I think the sympathy factor has been worn off. That's probably why she won two this past year.

"Empire State" will definitely be submitted and nominated in Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. I also think one of the B.o.B song will get in there as well.

The only way of this getting best Rap/Sung collabo against ESoM is if the Jay Z/Rihanna track comes out in time for the deadline and gets a nomination. That way then his voters might split themselves among both of the tracks leading to another song (i.e. this) getting it. If that doesn't happen then I don't see this having a chance in hell, sorry. Jay Z & Alicia are both Grammy darlings and ESoM has recieved huge critical acclaim and that song was just a phenomenon, something which this song isn't.

Oh and for whoever said that the winner is always the most popular song then I think you'll find that Low lost to American Boy the other year and Low broke about every record in the book. The Grammy normally goes to the most respected song...

Edit: I agree with CP that Airplanes will also get a nomination and I actually think that it would have a better chance of winning that this does.

Of course with the proper merits... Flo Rida wasn't winning a Grammy for a fad/club song. Estelle and Kanye also had the respect factors going. Most popular song without the fad...

this will definitely have more of a chance to win than airplanes does at least, the topic matter for this song will overpower that.
