Usher has claimed that the recent UK acts to break the US charts are bringing down the value of R&B.
The 'OMG' singer, who performed at Sunday's BET Awards in LA, said that British acts such as Taio Cruz and Jay Sean should be classed as pop music.
He told the Daily Star: "There’s a very fine line between what’s R&B and pop these days. Just because it’s sung by a male minority doesn’t mean you’re urban or R&B.
"Those artists are pop. The true value of R&B has been brought down."
Usher recently stated that he is a "worldwide pop icon".
He's actually got a good point. I'm so sick of Pop artists being labelled "r&b" or "urban" simply because they're black.
First off he never ****ing said OMG was R&B, he said that pop artists are being labeled R&B because they are minorities and it is true, people still refer to Beyonce as R&B when its clear she belongs in the pop category, especially lately. If your ****ing song is #1 on the pop charts and nowhere to be found on R&B its for a reason.
