If they had some airplay and a video it would be close. I think it will be their fans that will buy the song, not casual buyers. We'll have to wait and see what happens but I think Katy has the #1 locked already.
In Ireland its already #2 and the album is not out yet.... and I am pretty sure that the 95% of the population there does not know about the song coz the radios there are not playing it. Of course, no promo or video or single confirmation either.... so......
