The family of a 61-year-old Limpopo man have appeared in court for allegedly beating him to death when he wanted to watch the World Cup game between Germany and Australia.
Francina Makweya, 58, her son John Makweya, 36, and daughter Lebo Makweya, 23, appeared in the Seshego Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
They had apparently wanted to watch a gospel show on television, while David Makweya had wanted to watch the soccer on Sunday night.
He was stabbed in the back and sustained head injuries, and was dead when the police arrived on the scene, said Warrant-Officer Mothemane Malefo. His wife, son and daughter were granted bail of R1 500 each.
"The daughter was released on bail, but the mother and son are still in custody," said Malefo.
What is this f*ckery. Why would you kill your father because he wanted to watch the world cup ?!!!. I also think something else happened but, they aren't reporting it. R.I.P David Makweya
