Bieber's fans have definitely watched his music video for 'Never Say Never' which contains some scenes from the movie, then they found it's interesting and decided to watch the movie.
SMH at people who thought the“A-team” would do better than the “Karate Kid”.
There are a number of factors why Karate Kid was number 1:
1. It’s a FAMILY/KIDS movie
2. WILL and JADA are behind it and it’s their kid who stars in it.
3. The timing - school is OUT for the summer so kids are going to the movies more.
4. The majority of the movies released now - especially doing the summer - are geared towards kids and tweens. Those are really the only ages that spend money on things like this...especially for movies like this one. Don’t even get me started on those CRAPPY Twilight movies.
5. Justin Bieber - nuff said
6. How many kids take Karate classes?? That too played a part in it. The first Karate kid that was released in the ‘80 is what sparked kids to want to start taking classes! That movie is a classic!
As far as the “A-team”...I saw it. It was alright. The storyline could have been way better but the actors played their parts well. I thought it would do a little better than $26 mil though.
