LOL at this. First of all, that was a PREDICTION. Second of all, How would you know what she's sold since then if that website stopped doing worldwide predictions since FEBRUARY, which is when it says she was at 1.3 million? Rude Boy could've pushed more people to buy the album afterwards, especially since it didn't become number 1 until mid March and was number one for five weeks, and that same week it was reported that she sold 2 million. That was a month and a half ago so it's likely that she HAS sold nearly 3 million.
|
Because I take a look at the United World Chart albums sales and Rude Boy had little effect on the album at all. The highest I've seen it sell WW was 40k (that only lasted for 2 weeks BTW), when Rude Boy was really big. But it's been selling consistently low WW ever since. So, in 4 months, with consistently low sales, she sold 500k + extra, in addition to the 1.3 million it ACTUALLY SOLD in February. Not an extra 1.2 million.
Even with Rude Boy being #1 at the tim, in the US the sales were around 20k in the week the song was #1.

The moment she made a video for her song it was commercial. The promotion and performance of the song makes it commercial there is NOTHING non commercial about any pop artist that we like.

Leona:
Leona Lewis is vocally-amazing but her album was under-promoted and in harsh times, people don't want boring ballads. She was out of the country when Happy was being released and she had needed to be in US for 3-4 weeks promoting the album and the songs. All she does are ballads and whats the difference between one ballad to other?? She was supposed to have stepped it up a notch and I hope she realises this soon.
Xtina:
Stripped was her best album and Bionic has everything you could want. It has ballads like 'I am ', 'You Lost Me', 'Lift Me Up', 'Stronger Than Ever' which is where she shines the most. It has uptempo pop music like Not Myself Tonight, Desnudate, Bionic (Song), Elastic Love, I Hate Boys & My Girls.
With Bionic, the problem was that Xtina hadn't released an album in 4-years and she only started doing promotion a two weeks away. Xtina should have released two singles and done 3-4 weeks of promotion work before she released the album. NMT flopped because it didn't have a hook or a proper chorus which are most needed and sought-after parts on a song.
The music video was also found to be offensive to many people and it seemed that she had to go all 'Dirrty' and shock people, in order to sell records....which she doesn't need to. On the album, she needs to release songs like 'You Lost Me', 'WooHoo', 'Bionic' and 'Desnudate' which have gathered the most amount of praise so far and have been very-well recieved.
Ciara:
The problem with Ciara is that her music is not mainstream and you can't go against the popular trends. The trends are pop / dance-pop, Indie-Rock and Hip Hop. From 3rd album Fantasy Ride, the only good songs were Never Ever, Love, Sex & Magic and this was only due to Justin Timberlake and Work (under-promoted). Her original lead single was High Price and this was leaked around mid '08. I know because I had the song that early.
If Ciara wants to do great, she needs to record some really-amazing songs. Danja, Darkchild, Jazze Pha are some of the good producers that she has worked with before. All the leaks so far are average or bad. Lead single 'Ride' will not do well in UK because our tastes in music are different.

When was the last time you checked that website? Because when I just checked it, it said Rated R had sold over 2 million records. If you didn;t know (obviously you DON'T!) at the bottom of the page, it explains those blue and red arrows, it says that the albums with red arrows have sold OVER two million copies, and Rated R has a red arrow on it!!!! I believe this discussion is over!

You sound angry....did we hurt your e-feelings? Are we to blame for Ciaras failed attempts? Is it our fault that no one wanted Fantasy Ride? Are we the reason Ciara can't climb into the Top 5 anymore? Should we take the blame because Ciara cant sell 6 million?

i think..if one artist there doesn't sell/bcome successful than before ..maybe it's not their time YET..but im sure all of them got their own time.. everything is so unpredictable.. in my opinion only..if aguilera couldn't sell today. maybe it's not her time yet. maybe on the next one. .

No one's blaming you. He's just saying you're pressed. And judging by this post, did he lie?

I know the UWC. I've been following it for YEARS. Even is the album is CLOSE to 2 million it will still show the red arrow. Not albums which have sold OVER 2 million. It's actually done his several times with many different albums. You only have to be close (in the case of Rated R, 1.8 million) to have the red arrow. I've been following Rated R's sales and it's sold 500k since February worldwide. Not 1.2 million. So, 1.3 million + 500k= 1.8 million.

Sweety, I just got my calculator, and went through every week Rated R has been out, and added it up, and its over 2,100,000 copies.

Everyone knows that album sales have been going down, so I wouldn't be surprised that Christy has sold more. But outselling Aguilera in singles in ONLY 2 years compared to Aguilera's 10 years is pitiful. And how is Bionic doing now, only opening with 120k max, getting outsold by Glee and a soundtrack, pitiful
|
The has-been SOLD MORE than the wannabes. I didn't ignore nothing.
I say it again: Christina sold more than Katy Perry, Lady GaGa and Kesha COMBINED. Can you read?

Rated R is not a flop. It's almost platinum and it had 3 top 10 singles on the hot 100 and Rude Boy was #1 on three formats at the same time. It underperformed because people had extremely high expectations but it's nowhere near a flop.

I could honestly give a damn if the album sold 1 million copies or 10 copies. The album is a masterpiece, & quality >>>> chart performance.
