Twilight isn't taking away any of Harry Potter's fanbase. There's a lot of cross-over in those fanbases actually. However, the movies aren't even being released at the same time so there's really no competition. Just as with the last movie (#6) people will be lined up outside the theaters and into the parking lots.
I'm sick of people around here denouncing the success of everyone an everything left and right. (^_^) If you were experts in the entertainment industry or marketing, etc. you'd know better than to make flippant claims with no real backup.
