Going into today for the announcement of the lineup, I had very low expectations. Consider me pleasantly surprised!
I'm most excited for Devo, since they are one of Akron, Ohio's best exports. The people who don't like Devo are very similar to the people who don't like Weird Al: they are buffoons.
I am also really excited that Spoon and Against Me! will be there. Overall, it looks like a pretty fun lineup with some big names, and people I have never heard of before (who are The Dirty Heads and The Temper Trap? ).
As people who have frequented ATRL since 2004 may know, there is a live webcast for the event. More details on that will be posted closer to the date of June 5th.
Are you a headline reader? I could understand if you just read the title of the thread, without knowing what it was, how you could be confused.
The actual content inside the thread, since threads aren't just one-line phrases that people comment on (or maybe that's how it works around here lately?), clearly explains everything about it. If you don't understand it even with all of that information, then I don't know what I can tell you.
Maybe try for some reading comprehension tests? Or, ya know, not post at all? That might be your best bet.
The list looks pretty good. I'm most excited to see Silversun Pickups and Sublime. I've watched bits and pieces of shows in the past and they've been pretty good. Hopefully I'll remember to watch the webcast. I've missed out on some great artists due to bad memory.
Looks better than I expected. There's a couple of bands that I'll watch and probably not care for, but the overall lineup is fun. It's always nice to live in a world where Deftones and Devo play the same show, and no one bats an eyelash because of it.
This is always a wonderful event. The last year or two haven't been great, but this is a huge improvement. Can't wait for Deftones, STP, and Silversun Pickups.
