Scenario: Jamie submits 4 bonuses. She got a 2/3, 3/3, 3/3, and 1/3 on the four bonus submissions. Since only three bonuses count towards the total, we would count the three highest scored bonuses of the four, and apply them toward the total. So in the end only the 2/3, 3/3, and 3/3 bonus submissions would count.
