Cheryl Tweedy has filed for divorce from her estranged husband Ashley at the High Court in London.
The Girls Aloud star split from the Chelsea and England football ace earlier this year, following revelations about a string of alleged affairs.
Her lawyers have now been instructed to push through the official termination of their relationship ahead of next month's World Cup in South Africa.
"She knows how vital it is for Ashley to have a completely clear head and concentrate entirely on his football and performance, with no distractions or emotional pulls.
"She wants a completely clean break with no malice or wrangling over property or money. Cheryl will not take one penny of Ashley's money," revealed a source.
The terms of the divorce, which will cite Ashley's "unreasonable behaviour", are expected to award the couple's £6 million Surrey mansion to Ashley.
The pair have been married for almost four years, after tying the knot in July 2006.

I don't know why, but I think she'll stick with Cheryl Cole. I prefer Tweedy because Cole just reminds me of that scum Ashley.

Not to sound stuck up... But if she was to use Tweedy it would make people more aware of her background, where she comes from. It's a very "common" surname. I think she's better off sticking with Cole, she made her name as Cheryl Cole so she should take it as her own.
