Christina Aguilera has confirmed that her latest video features several deliberate references to Madonna.

The singer, who took to the stage with Madonna and Britney Spears for a notorious performance at the 2003 VMAs, used her 'Not Myself Tonight' clip to salute the pop queen's legacy.

"One of my favourite videos ever is 'Express Yourself' by Madonna which came across as really strong and empowering which I always try to incorporate through my exp​ression of sexuality," Aguilera said.

"I love the direct reference I made to Madonna with the eye glass moment and the smoke and stairs. I was paying tribute to a very strong woman who has paved the way before."

Actually a number of her fans denied the Madonna-rip. Then the comparison pictures were made, then suddenly they all knew.

She's spending her time justifying every of her moves. I'm starting to feel kinda bad for her actually. Everyone is jumping on her, what's the hell??

it would have been a lot more artistic if she let the concept of "sexual whatever" inspire her and then came up with her own script and visuals, rather than hijacking madonna so harshly.

But i noticed she's like a CHAMELEON.....

when she's inspired by something she literally copies it... like on her album (which is pretty good). Her vocals and the productions of her uptempo songs sound exactly like whatever artist she worked with. If i just casually heard "elastic love" on the radio i'd have been 100% sure it was M.I.A ........but hot song either way

Maybe the young ones that don't know the Express youself and Human nature videos. the week we were getting promo pics and small clips from the video we seen the Express Yourself vibe. We know she is a Madonan stan.
