What are they for?

The spin increases/decreases we see in a daily update are based on the number of spins a song has gained or lost against the same day one week earlier.

Say song "X" gets 3500 spins in a week, 500 a day.

Week 1:

Monday: 500
Tuesday: 500
Wednesday: 500
Thursday: 500
Friday: 500
Saturday: 500
Sunday: 500

If "X" gets a +350 on the Monday of the next week, meaning it will have been played an extra 350 times, raising the total for that day to 850.

Week 2:

Monday: 850 (+350)
Tuesday: 500
Wednesday: 500
Thursday: 500
Friday: 500
Saturday: 500
Sunday: 500

The same happens everyday for the rest of the week.

Week 2:

Monday: 850 (+350)
Tuesday: 700 (+200)
Wednesday: 800 (+300)
Thursday: 750 (+250)
Friday: 700 (+200)
Saturday: 800 (+300)
Sunday: 850 (+350)

At the end of week 2 it will have 5450 spins.

Then, the next Monday it gets played 900 times, but because of the large increase it had the week before, it only gets a +50 increase.

Week 2:

Monday: 900 (+50)
Tuesday: 700
Wednesday: 800
Thursday: 750
Friday: 700
Saturday: 800
Sunday: 850

The total spins would now be 5500, which is why we can subtract yesterday's from today's to find the difference in spins.
