"okay, megapost here:
@ Stephanie, okay I have no idea what's going to happen with upcoming choreographers, but you have to remember that the PEOPLE doing Britney's choreography for the Circus era were people she hadn't worked with before and brought a different style to her. She did really well with what they gave her to do. It all depends on what an individual hands to her and gives her to work with; she catches on and adds that Britney flair to things. Hope for different choreographers next era. And as for her dancing: she still has that, people just equate Britney to past eras and cannot look forward like they should and accept things that are different. People want her to be the Britney from "Me Against the Music" and past eras. I look at it like this: she's still Britney, still dancing, still smiling and her confidence came through on the tour, I don't care what anyone says. She was happy, that's all I want.
@Justin: as for her look, it's going to stay "Britney". I think Jenny Eliscu said it best: The Britney brand always does best when it's blonde. That's all I can really say. And no, there was no female rapper involved in the collabo, so no Nicki Menaj features. Remember: Britney doesn't stick with the crowd on music. She always does what she loves and puts out music for the masses that is catchy and just different enough to catch peoples' attention, but still keeps in line with her past work and mass appeal to maintain her older fans and grasp new ones.
@Aurore: when it comes to her team and management, it's a mixed bag. They deserve quite a bit of credit for her success given her career is just a giant PR move. Notice what happened when Larry and her label were out of the picture; the pop star experienced some "freedom" personally and musically. Personally, she suffered. Musically, she created what many fans and critics consider her best album. It's a give and take with Jive, but I have a feeling they know what they're doing a bit more this time around. They have heard the critics and the fans, and I think they're going to give us a happy medium now. I know from a personal experience, Adam Leber has heard the fans loud and clear. But remember: they let you bring your camera in the venue for the tour and take whatever you wanted. You didn't get a DVD, but you have your photos. That's the label compromise for fans.
@Dave: I can look into the UK deal for you. No clue on that one. And as for Radar, you guys have heard the rumors. The rumors are true. And again: Jive hears us, but they're going to make decisions that will make them money and keep the Britney machine going."&
"Trust me Jazzy, you're not the first nor will you be the last fan to think that.
But you have to remember, Jive did a good job with the last era. They offered Brit a chance to be a star again, and she complied. She rehearsed. She recorded. She shot videos. She toured. She had a #1 album. She had successful singles. Grammy nominee for Womanizer. Sold-out worldwide tour. This last era was a big one, and thanks to her and Jive working together, that all happened. But they really needed this to happen for Blackout in my opinion. That era, if Britney had gotten help and her people hadn't waited so long, would have been HUGE. Again, it's a give and take with Jive, and we just have to sit back and let them do their thing. It's worked for 10+ years, so just go with it. Her label isn't completely retarded, even though some stuff they do is viewed as a little stupid. "&
"That YouTube video isn't loading for me. Someone should definitely post what it says.
And as for the next era, I know it'll be good. Right now she has the worlds' attention again; this album will be what she really has to say now that they're listening with baited breath.
And as for the whole "creative" control ordeal...let's be honest, the bit of stuff we've heard from the OD era, which fans constantly whine about, was not radio friendly nor was it even that great. Mona Lisa and Rebellion may be more personal, but the general public doesn't give a ****. And Jive did give her a chance. Executive Producer of Blackout? Britney Spears. Her lowest selling studio album? Blackout. You do the math. "&
"@fyi: Not necessarily. You have to remember that the Circus era was a SUCCESSFUL time in Britney's career, and her people may just recycle the same old formula and do it again. When it comes to Blackout, I feel like it was mishandled because there was lack of communication between the label and Britney's "people" at the time (i.e. Sam Lufti) and the fact that the pop star wasn't popping how America is used to seeing her.
And I actually just got an update on album #7. No singles chosen yet, not done recording, and she's in and out of studios with several producers. By the way, the songs with Pharrell and JR Rotem are apparently old but retooled. Aka, her label is recycling past work. But her people have wisened up: they're sneaking her around to do things. Candies promo will take place as well, whether that means just the commercial or not, I don't know. Cosmo is still not set, but I'm guessing July or August"&
"See, this is debatable. Remember, fans and critics may think Blackout is her best work to date (which personally, I think it is) it didn't do well commercially. It failed to go platinum inside the US, the videos were considered subpar and she did virtually no promotion at all. And her videos were a gaff compared to her other work and work after them. Gimme More was trashed, Piece of Me was a joke (and those VMAs were a sympathy gift and not earned, Chris Brown had it right that those were "fixed" due to For the Record) and Break the Ice was a cartoon, though while some compared it to a cartoon Madonna, it didn't look much like Britney. The Blackout era was phenomenal in terms of music, but when it comes to everything else, it didn't work out at all. "&
"I'll do my best.
@Stephanie: she added YOK for fun. it was the same deal as Mannequin, it was only for Brit to do something different and have fun. And she attended the Grammy's because she was nominated and she wanted to mingle a bit; it was a good PR move.
@Nick: This album will be another big one for her, I have no doubts. Given what I'm hearing through the grapevine, the Britney machine is well-oiled again and will deliver another solid album. As for the VMAs...for right now? MTV is already in talks with her people, but I don't know what she'll be doing if anything.
@Patrick: no, no Nicki Menaj features haha. But the features that had potential, you guys would vomit at. There were three people who I've heard guest features from (two of them on one song with Britney) and I'm really hoping they don't put them on the album. "&
"oh, and I just watched that YouTube link and that is all total ******** except for one minor detail. Three songs were removed from the show and the backdrops were changed and altered in order. Perez Hilton was a part of the reason for the shuffling of backdrops. As for the deleted songs, I'll probably never know. But if she'd left them in, a LOT more people would have been happy. " Link in question.

"@Stephanie: Britney did sing Everytime live at every show, you just never heard it due to the track blaring over her...and the fact that her handheld mic was shut off after she would talk to the crowd. And to my knowledge, I don't think she ever sang the full song live...and if she did, I wanna see the video. And as for Sweet Dreams, I know people have it. And I know it's out there in full, but I don't know if it will leak. It absolutely could though. Although not many people had access to Venemo, I know some people did and got her tour backdrops.
@Alyx: yeah that video is so full of ****. Britney isn't dumb and didn't start off with an almost 30 song tour. People forget simple math in these things when they make up lies."&
" Venemo specializes in live shows. Look them up. They're database contains many tour videos. Spice Girls, Britney, Madonna, a lot of people.
@Stephanie: The reason she was in that office? *Gimme More giggle* "&
"@tommy: jerk
@Alyx: no, I have seen them all but do not have them.
@Steph: Britney Spears singing live? no. Let's be realistic here. And the project for which she stopped by the Viacom building for is for me to know, you to find out later this year "&
@Shane: In order for that to happen, somebody had to have taken some serious time and had a lot of hard drive space to extract those videos. You're talking about gigs and gigs of files. As for Britney, her tour mixes are the exact same as the tracks, just with a live band and a few different pitches/lines added in, like what they did with Get Naked.
@Alyx: you guys have seen them all. I've only seen alternate choices for videos and little additions or subtractions made to the final edits. "&
"In terms of photographers, I have no idea to be honest. So many photoshoots of hers will never see the light of day, and I know Mark Liddell is quite angry that all of those images of her leaked recently.
In terms of promotion, the Britney bandwagon is keeping this next project under wraps at this point in time. Everything will happen boom boom boom, single, album details, video, promo. It'll come at a later point in time. I have no idea of anything specific in terms of promo, but the VMAs is something I'd keep an eye on."&
"Certain tracks were cut from Circus at the discretion of Britney because she felt more strongly about some songs than others. And Teresa and Larry had a BIG hand in this last album. They wanted eclectic but still pop and they did it. And personally, some of those songs are her best work yet, and idc what anyone says. If U Seek Amy, Blur, Mannequin, Phonography and Trouble are some serious serious highlights, but people overlook the music due to the PR blitz and the big singles and the Radar controversy. "&
"@Nick: answer my questions via PM. lol. and I know some things about the Blackout era, but not everything.
@Steph: good question. Let's just see how this next era goes before anything else happens. I don't think she's leaving Jive/Zomba anytime soon. Live Nation would be an interesting deal, but nobody has really test-driven the Live Nation thing yet. But if you have Britney and Madonna on one label, that's a billion-dollar industry with just those two artists. "&
"Alright, this is pretty obscure and you may not know the answer, but I've been curious. How has Britney's team reacted to the rise of Lady Gaga, etc.?
When Circus was released, Gaga was just barely hitting mainstream an the whole Beyonce / Sasha Fierce thing hadn't yet become massive. It was assumed Britney and Circus were going to be top dog in 2009 but her thunder was kinda stolen by those two. Nobody seemed to jump at getting Britney to collab with Gaga on 'Telephone' so it doesn't seem like they'd be eager to get on the Gaga bandwagon for this album...but I'm wondering if it's got them sweating a bit...
...or is it no big deal whatsoever?&
"@fyi: I was waiting for this. Yes, her team has taken note of Lady Gaga. But Britney doesn't need to try to be anyone other than Britney; it's worked for over a decade, and it will continue to work now. Britney has always been visual in her look, but Beyonce and Gaga dominated that given how DIFFERENT they were from the pack, and now it's EVERYONE trying to be different, so Britney's people are just going to present the world the same blonde pop star we've always known, just with new outfits and new music. Why change the formula if it isn't broken?
@Steph: MYGOD. okay let's go down the list:
-She didn't stop promoting, she was on tour. The tour = the promo. Giving away tickets to fans = promo. Videos still came out and so did Candies ads. Those were your promo.
-No, she wasn't going to perform at the TEEN Choice Awards (I believe that's what you meant.)
-Britney did interact with fans, just not as much as people wanted. She spoke some, but not a lot.
-Britney isn't exactly the biggest fan of Gimme More so we'll see on that one...
-Yes, Blackout was due to be re-released. Cancelled twice by the label.
-No, the IUSA video is the direct result of what Britney wanted in terms of look and style; that was her baby for the era and it turned out amazing. Storyboards were a generalization and she was still working on her body some at the time prior to the video/tour.and there you go "&
"Nope, Britney isn't fond of one of her biggest hits. She actually would like to forget a very large portion of her career believe it or not. And oh yeah, she did cut songs out of the tour that she didn't want left in...and yes, there were a couple fan favorites. But it's her tour and her calls; she's more in charge than people are left to believe, and Jordan Miller is one of those people her team despises because he has it very wrong. "&
"try a majority of her first three albums.
Those albums may have made her a HUGE star, but she is sick of the stigmas associated with them. She's pushing 30, with the vast majority of people still wanting her to do those songs. She will always be performing ...Baby One More Time and Slave 4 U because they represent the song that started her career and the song that forever changed her image in peoples' minds. Before Slave she was a little kid. After Slave she was a force to be reckoned with and a certified sexual icon. Before Slave, it was a tease. After Slave, it was in your face.
And I'll tell you, two of the songs removed from the Circus tour were from her second album. You guys can probably guess what they were (hint: they were singles) and that aggrivates people which in turn aggrivates Britney. Britney wants to be taken seriously in some respects; respect can't be earned when the word "baby" is every other word and the tongue-in-cheek is just bubblegum fluff. "3" and "If U Seek Amy" take the tongue-in-cheek to a more shocking place, while paying homage to her past.
And Shane, even Madonna hates some of her biggest work that fans love. Madonna has been quoted as saying she doesn't like "Sorry" and some other songs because she thinks they're stupid and lacking in substance, but fans LOVE them.
As for whether or not Britney likes Slave 4 U? She left it on tour so I'm guessing that was probably a word from her caretakers that she leave it in; you can't cut out ALL of the big songs other than the ones from her last three records. Old stuff is needed to reel in the audience near the end, which is what the tour did."&
