it's a secular public school, no one deserves special treatment or for their backwards religions to be imposed on the school or on others. Separating boys and girls only causing more sexism and unhealthiness from both sides. I would understand if they were forcing them to change in the same room, but they're just swimming. If her parents ever take her outside, she's going to see boys. She has boys in her class. If that offends them, send her to an all girls school or homeschool. They're only kids, why sexualise them?

I am all for people raising their kids the way they want, but there are also consequences on where you decided to live and raise your child. If you live in a western country, you should atleast try to adapt certain things to make sure your kid doesn't turn into an outcast.

While I was attending high school there were a lot of muslim girls who were raised with the belief that men were predators that basically were gonna rape them at any occasion. I am not joking. We had some school trips, including camp. And these girls basically got driven to the camp every morning and brought back to house every evening for a whole week, because their parents didn't wanted their daughters to join camp and they only got to do some of the activities. The main reason was that the parents thought their daughters would get raped.

It only makes it harder for their kids to catch up in society overall, and it also adds to the 'us against the world' sentiment. It is sad to see that they don't try to adapt a little more of the countries they live in and atleast try to make the best of it.

Also to make clear, there are also big groups of muslims that don't have a problem with swimming, or school camp etc. though, because there is no way we can generalise all Muslims in Europe for that matter. But there is still a group that I think handles not only out of belief but also fear.

And there are enough options for their kids to not make any contact with boys, there are different school types. But a public school is for all people, and that means that all beliefs, ideas etc. have to accept that things are going general and not the way their beliefs or religion tell them.

What people do in their spare time is up to them, but at work or at a school you should adapt, or otherwise try other options to fit your beliefs.

Texas is actually very lax. If your relfiosu beliefs conflict with something school administrators have no problem with removing your kids from the situation.

Example I went to school with a Jehovah's Witness (they don't allow to celebrate holidays or special occasions). The school let her parents pick her up and leave when ever we had Christmas parties or birthday parties. Also the Jewish kids were excused from school for their Jewish holidays.

that's ******. nobody should be forced to do anything they don't want to, especially when it comes to irrelevant subjects like sport.

we were also forced to swim with boys even though our normal sports classes were never together and i absolutely hated it. i was always uncomfortable because boys were around and they kept looking at all of us girls and I absolutely hated it.
