I don't agree with a lot of Madonna's politics but I think she makes valid points. Although, unless they start actually doing something instead of just speaking, I don't really care what any celebrity has to say about political issues considering most of the issues don't harm them at all.

That thread you linked shows her album above Madonna's, but Billboard lists Madonna's album above Janet's. What is the truth?

The point here is that the tour wasn't selling well after the first few shows. It's not really surprising considering Janet can't consistently tour arenas now. Wasn't she touring auditoriums five years ago? A pregnancy is easier to fake than a serious illness. The flu, for example, is not enough to cancel the entire tour. Why would an entertainer spontaneously decide to start a family in the middle of a tour - her "comeback" tour nonetheless?

What does it mean then? It shows she still has relevance in pop culture even if she doesn't speak out. Deny it all you want

An important point we should make is that those are US sales. I'm pretty sure RH has sold more in total, and she had a far more successful tour too. Although Unbreakable sold more than Honeymoon, as indicated by the year-end chart I linked, I don't know how much Honeymoon has sold as of now. Also, BTD is far above Unbreakable on that same chart I listed, so there's that.

We don't know how many tickets were sold for the dates she canceled, and it's extremely suspicious for her to plan a family in the middle of a tour. It's not like she had an unexpected pregnancy. Canceling the tour under the guise of starting a family is more credible than an illness, and no one expects you to get pregnant right away. People will expect you to improve unless you have a life-threatening illness, which, as I said, is difficult to fake. I never said you mentioned the flu. I brought it up as an example.

As a celebrity you have the power to reach a lot of people and being a person myself who speaks out and fights for things I believe in, I really support it when an artist talks about political issues.

I also agree with her that some artists won't speak about election etc because they fear that people with different opinions will turn their backs on them and so their popularity could be suffering...

Yeah Janet has always been submissive and does whatever she's told by the men in her life, Madonna is the opposite, she doesn't need a man telling her how to dress or behave, she is outspoken and does what she feels like.
