They do, and unlike at the north pole, there's a huge piece of land hidden under the ice

It depends, it could be 6: America, Europe, Africa, Asia, Oceania, Antartica or 7 if we divide America into two

Since Oceania is not a continent but a region, therefore there are 8.
North America
South America
Europe
Africa
Asia
Australia
Antarctica
Zealandia - a submerged continent which also includes all the micronesian and polynesian islands

I'll never get the logic behind dividing Eurasia but not dividing the Americas.

There are multiple continents and they are used for everyday cooking like basil, parsley, thyme, fennel, dill, cloves, anise, cumin, tarragon... not really sure why people are only saying that there are 6 or 7 continents when I already named 9 and there are more that could be listed...

Technically, this is untrue. They have had manned camps there for decades.
Anyway, there are 7 continents.

A dwarf planet, but yeah, technically still classified as a planet. I can understand the confusion though, especially if you don't keep up with this mess. One minute its a planet, the next its not, then its a dwarf planet...NASA needs to get it together.

"Ordered from largest in size to smallest, they are: Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica, Europe, and Australia. In geology, areas of continental crust include regions covered with water.
Islands are frequently grouped with a neighbouring continent to divide all the world's land into geopolitical regions. Under this scheme, most of the island countries and territories in the Pacific Ocean are grouped together with the continent of Australia to form a geopolitical region called Oceania.

The seven-continent model is usually taught in China, India, Pakistan, the Philippines, parts of Western Europe and most English-speaking countries, including Australia and the UK.
The six-continent combined-Eurasia model is mostly used in Russia, Eastern Europe, and Japan.
The six-continent combined-America model is used in France and its former colonies, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Romania, Latin America and Greece."

well Eurasia is connected to Africa so people argue for counting all of it together
I think in the old days the Americas were seen as a monolith because of their colonial past. If you look at old writings the Spanish refer to their colonies, whether they are in Mexico, Argentina or Peru, as "América." And the word "América" in Spanish still refers to the Americas.

Anyone who writes "Australia"... Your list is invalidated for that.

7, like the days the Lord took to create the world. If there had been 8 continents then He would've made a week 8 days long.
