I wouldn't mind a shorter album like 10-12 songs, especially if there is a deluxe edition with some additional ones.

I mean, she's said she hasn't been writing much for this album and that she's been using writing camps, kinda similar to how she talked about PBP. I wouldn't hold my breath.

Y'all know that among those 10 songs or whatever there might be some fillers too, right? Thanks for clarifying some things for me tho.

Anyway, like queen based & Joe said 12 songs would also be ideal for me, but anyway whatever queen wants to do is perfect as long as we get some new music.

I hope this era kelly only have one standard album, like breakaway. Forget about deluxe edition, platinum edition whatever.

With short albums you have to be selective with what songs go on it so having fillers on them is very rarely the case though. You could be right but honestly hearing this makes me believe she's going for quality not quantity and that is something I'm welcoming as her last few albums (WIR excluded) are bloated and have a decent amount of filler/not so good songs.

I'm fine with a self titled. I feel like every artist should have a ST album at one point in their lives, as long as it had some kind of reasoning to name it their name. As long as she doesn't pull a Barbra and have 20 ST's I'll be happy.

I remember her saying that she would never do a self titled album. If my memory is correct then Thankful was suppose to be a self titled album.

But then again she said she would never have kids so you never know lol. A self titled album would fit tho since she's reinventing her image and music, but so many artists have done it that it feels pretty meh.

Yeah Self Titled albums kind of strike me as a bit lazy as surely you could have come up with a more creative name for your reinvention/revival (though I have faves who have done them before and in one of their cases it turned out to be their best work). As long as the material is not lazy I'm fine with it being self-titled. Honestly at this point I'd be more shocked if it wasn't.

Barbara (along with basically everyone else back then) was a mess for that.
