This isn't about Apple.
This is about RAM. More RAM = more battery usage.
If you don't know what you're talking about, don't quote me.
Any good Android phone, should use the least amount of RAM as possible while providing the smoothest experience. The same for any device.
If an Android phone can run perfectly fine on 4GB, for example, you don't need 8GB. It's just sitting there, draining power.
ASUS are beefing up the hardware, rather than optimizing the software.
