Is there law for hate crime against white people or did they have do it through his identity as a disabled person?

The video in which the 4 black peeps shout "**** Trump, **** White People" obviously makes one of the two cases more likely to be charged under a "hate crime" as there is verbal evidence of racial and political bias... However the perpetrator not being charged with a sex crime is disgusting

I assume that they were able to do it because race is a protected characteristic under hate crime laws. Regardless of which race, all are protected. Given what they said in the video, it is more likely to be prosecuted using race hate crime laws than inferring from their target that they were anti-disability.
