Obviously a racially motivated hate crime, and obviously a horrendous one, no need for the satirical spin from some of you. Whats key is that the criminals have already been caught and justice will be served, with more or less universal consensus. Kind of why things like this don't get as much attention as police brutality or racial crimes where the killer/accused walk free.

And do you need me to spoon-feed to you the limitations of local government from the fact that 1) legislation won't magically cure racism and 2) the tangible limitations on local government when it comes to funds?

If whites are so suddenly scared of evil black bullies, are the affluent white suburbanites currently filling the gentrified neighborhoods of Chicago gonna be down to paying more taxes to fund programs to curb violent behavior in schools and teach kids, including black kids, to not be violent?

Your comment is just off topic and irrelevant. What do these people have to do with gangs or criminals? Do they have previous arrests? Are they affiliated with gangs? I've read a few articles on it, but haven't seen any mention of either, so if you could link that, that'd be great.

Some of y'all really act as though people in the communities you scold don't do anything or that the people in local government aren't trying and are actively promoting this. What exact programs and movements would you suggest that would have prevented this specific crime from happening?

BLM is not a simple organization, it's a movement and there are many organizations that take part in it and helping Chicago as best they can. The local government clearly can't do it all.

I don't know why the protracted discussion. It's not that hard to admit that these black folks have been radicalized to resent white people. It's racism to the extent that they were specifically seeking to terrorize a white person, disabled or not.

However, the question begs: Why do these folks resent white people? To what end have they experienced oppression that they feel compelled to act out so violently? And how do we remedy that social inequality to prevent retaliations like this?

Firstly, these people are criminals. They committed a crime, and we have irrefutable evidence. My comment is a general comment about reducing the escalating crimes in Chicago. Murders and shootings there are out of control. My comment is not about curbing racism, so you really have no reason to spoon feed me any points about the limitations of legislation in that regard. This is a hate crime, but it is a crime first and foremost. If the City of Chicago more efficiently reduced crimes, more criminals would think twice about committing crimes. Lastly, the third largest city in the country is hardly limited by funds. It's limited by structure, organization, and corruption.

Chicago has more shootings and crimes than any other city in the country. The local government is at fault. Chicago isn't some poor, common city. It's the third largest city in the country, and that means it has access to vast resources.

Please provide measures the city can take that would have 100% prevented this specific crime or stop going off topic unless you have irrefutable proof these people were gang members or previous offenders that would justify your tangent. Thanks.

There is irrefutable evidence that these people are criminals, so my comment is completely justified. My argument is actually logical, because it calls upon the local government to step in and take action to prevent future crimes.
