You can't talk to Trump supporters. My mom has two friends that are for him and one voted for him and we don't know if the other voted for not. But one is so clueless that she wasn't aware who Trump was filling his cabinet with and the other, after being told that everything he promised to do he's already backtracked on and that his policies will not only not create jobs but will actually lead to jobs being lost.

They just don't get. They're stupid. And they will suffer.

That is true, however the pattern is out there. There was no huge uproar when Romney lost in 2012. No one questioned the legitimacy of Bush's presidency in 2000. There was no #NotMyPresident and sending death threats to electors. No one tried to make it sound like someone winning an election was the end of the world.

You have no proof about the motivations of people who voted Trump. People vote for someone for various reasons. What you said is basically what you heard from liberal media commentators and their wrong opinions. Also, your arrogance is not helping to justify your opinion at all.

Well for one each of those ran their campaign different from Trump, you cannot deny that. It has a huge part in how voters react. Also there were protests after Bush won actually, but it was in a different time and so it's just not exactly the same.

They feel their friend isn't who they thought they were, if that is true or not we cannot say cause we don't know them personally. The electoral college guarantees you the presidency, not the people's love and respect. Maybe nominate someone likable next time who's actually seen a somewhat decent favorability at least once im his career instead of a total pariah. Better yet, maybe Trump should be trying to unite his people instead of calling out the democrars and the liberals and the "losers" who fought him so "badly" on twitter.

Instead of whining about Trump is not being treated as well as Obama and Bush, start wondering why he has by far the lowest transition approval rating of any president elect of all time. Why despite a career of kissing up to celebrities and fellow billionaires, most of them still can't stand him or respect him and it won't be any different with world leaders.

Decent favorability?! He won the damn election! Sure, he lost the popular vote, but still got a bit less than 50% of the vote! That's not decent favorability?

Trump has low favorability only amongst people who didn't support him because he is not from the establishment and makes controversial opinions. He called for complete rejection of far-left policies of the Obama administration, which have been shoven down people's throats under meaningless slogans such as 'tolerance', 'progressiveness'. Another thing is that he isn't a politician and that is the sole reason for the few mistakes he made so far - like with the Taiwanese president call. He's going to learn it from experience and, I hope, that from his advisors as well. But so far, most of his cabinet appointments are good, so I'm moderately optimistic about the future of his presidency.

But being out of the establishment is also what got him elected. This whole election was a middle finger to the establishment, to the politically correct media, self-proclaimed moral authorities dictating people what they should or shouldn't do.

And, in my opinion, it is Obama's fault that the country is so divided now and not Trump's. Trump is only a symbol of the backlash against the last 8 years.

What's an undocumented immigrant? The illegals have or had documents and the arrival of most of them on US soil was documented. It's just either their visas expired or they don't have permits to work. Stop that politically correct wording.

I know the right is usually more open to friendships with the left because they tend to handle a debate or differing opinions more about the facts and less about the feelings.

I'm not seeing the immaturity or childishness in generally choosing. People shouldn't be obligated to be friends with people of all views. Especially if they aren't stopping that persons ability to have a different view. Avoiding views you do not like when among friends is fine because it's best not to force having to listen to people you don't want to for the sake of it in a close like relationship.

People choose what they want to read about politically, hear on the news politically all the time.

The Trump supporters indeed don't have to be sad or maybe they will be. I'm not talking about dumping friendships just to upset someone emotionally but simply because you do not like their choices in something. Political identity is a choice, who they voted for is a choice and ending the friendship over it is also choice.

I'm not making a case of the right or left being better for this. There were enough reports on people not getting along even during the holidays among family on both ends. Wanting to be around similar minds isn't uncommon, same goes for the left and the right.

I'm friends with several republicans, none of whom voted from T**** because they thought he was garbage. I know people who voted for him, though now one of them deeply regrets it. Dunno about the other two.

Idk if I'd stop being friends with them, but political talk is off the table. One tried to convince me that he was the most "lgbt friendly president in US history." I clocked him with the facts and all he had to say was "oh yeah you're right."

What bothers me the most is that all of the horrible s*it he did and said wasn't enough for people to not vote for him. Our economy has vastly improved and was continuing to do so. The people I know who voted for him solely voted for the economy because they wanted a year or two long boom, though at a party all agreed that a recession will be imminent Like that's what I don't understand about some of his supporters. The racist inbred ones are a lost cause, though.

If an unhinged democrat such as T**** had run off a campaign of hate and outlandish/unforgiving statements, I would have easily voted for a moderate republican to block them for office.
