I understand why they want to move - an embassy is usually located in the capital city of a foreign nation - but Tel Aviv is better and safer. The American government would foot the bill too. This really shouldn't be a priority.

I think this is vitally important. It is important that the world begins to recognise the holiest city in Judaism as the capital of the world's only Jewish state.

Jerusalem is a historic city in ruins. It does not live up to any sort of first-world expectations to qualify as the capital of an advanced country. Furthermore, I could understand this argument if most Israelis were staunchly religious, but half of the Jewish Israelis consider themselves hiloni. Therefore, the capital of Israel doesn't have to be chosen on religious grounds, and embassies don't need to be built in Jerusalem.

They should move it to the western part since the eastern part belongs to Palestine.

I disagree. I think it's about time the world showed Israel some respect regarding Jerusalem. It is the holiest city in the Jewish faith. The only reason Palestine or any other Arab nation cares about it is because Israel cares about it and they despise Israel and want to see it destroyed. Jewish claim to Jerusalem outlasts any other faith's by over a millennium.
