People are just listing their faves which makes this thread invalid. Most black people don't even know what a Olly Murs is. Even if they have, it's not for interest in his music.
Eminem is an odd one; while most black people will acknowledge his talent, the black community in general don't use his music (he gets little to no urban radio support) and many were annoyed by the fact that he became more successful than any black rapper and the pedestal he was placed on largely because of his position as a white man and how much more easily young white people could relate to him because of that.
^^ Yeah, the black community have a love/hate relationship with JT. We'll bop to some of his songs one minute and jam along to him singing with Charlie Wilson 'nem at the BET awards and then the next minute remember how he did Janet and drag tf out of him. It's not consistent at all -- he's widely liked, but he's side-eyed just as much.

Did Joss Stone ever have any impact? I mean, she performed for Aretha and with James Brown so I'm guessing she had some pull but she's been non existent in recent years
