Yes, the fact that there hasn't been an Asian superstar yet isn't caused by racism. I blame the lack of Asians trying to make it in the Western industry, and the lack of appeal for us in the Korean/Japanese markets.

There's actually tons of Asians trying to make it in the American market though. Unfortunately the industry or the GP just don't seem to be receptive. There are a few that I think really have the potential though. Of course CL, BTS are two that have already made waves. And there's a handful of Asian-Americans that I think have the potential too. Megan Lee from Nickelodeon is really talented
Once she breaks free of Nickelodeon and her child centric audience she could be big
Yes, but most of the people directly from Asia aren't making the kind of pop that we play on the radio. Even acts like Kero Kero Bonito that originated in England are explicitly referencing J-pop. Mitski doesn't make pop but has achieved a strong following, which tells me this isn't motivated by race, but genre. I'd like to see it happen & it's a shame it hasn't yet.

She has a really nice soothing voice. If she tries to appeal to a different market with a more mature sound, she could probably be big.
