To those who have had braces. How long did you wear them or are you still wearing them? How was/is your experience? Have your teeth been messed up after not wearing them anymore?|

four ****ing years
I didn't follow my dentist's advices in the first 2 years so I slowed the treatment a little
my teeth are beautiful now, I'm 2 years off from the treatment and they never came back to the mess they were before even though I smoke pot and cigarettes, thank god.

I've been wearing them since August It was painful af at first, but I'm LOVING the results so far

I had 4 teeth removed. Fixed braces, no retainer. Orthodontist gave me one but I didn't want to wear it

Glad I had them because one tooth was slightly crooked and needed straightening. You don't realise until you look back.

Your teeth are going to move without your retainer....

My teeth are still straight.

The retainer was worse than the braces. Felt like I was wearing a gum shield all day long.

I had the wires, the molded plastic one but didn't bother with the rubber (?) - three in total.

Might be getting the names of each one mixed up you know, hence the descriptions

It'll be 2 years in February, I was suppose to get them off then, but my underbite didn't budge. I got 2 teeth extraction 2 weeks [4 in total counting the 2 that were extracted prior to getting them on] and now they have to close the gap which will probably take 6 months and the have to fix a curve on my top teeth so I'll say I have another 7-8 months in total.

A year and a half, from the end of junior year to the end of my first semester in college. My teeth were ****ed as **** before my braces.

About 10 months, I only needed them to fix about two teeth

The main tooth that needed moving was the second to left front tooth, slightly out, crooked back (thankfully)

I guess the side and back teeth were taken out to shift them all back. You're lucky, it felt like I them ages.

3 years, was only supposed to be 18 months but i never wore my elastics
nope teeth are straight as can be *unlike me), peoples teeth don't just revert after them if your orthodontist is good
most will put a permanent arch wire on the inside of your teeth so no shifting can ever happen again

Year and a half from beginning of 7th grade to the end of 8th grade

Two and a half years, from halfway into fifth grade to the summer after 7th grade. I had to get 4 teeth pulled () but it besides that it wasn't bad. Also I was supposed to wear rubber bands but I never did and my teeth turned out fine anyways.

Three years and a half. First week was a nightmare.
