Did you watch the video? He's saying gays provide an evolutionary advantage to the family unit, and argues that humanity seeks to to grow through expansion as a family unit rather than inseminating every female they can. He's saying gays strengthen that unit and give it more opportunity to grow, which helps humanity to grow, which gives gays an evolutionary purpose.
